@mk A few years ago, there was a page on a South American site known as #gnewbook where we were discussing exactly how #federation should work, based on experiences with various implementations ( !sn, !friendica, !diaspora, #appleseed, several others [including a couple that hosted their protocols atop #XMPP] ). Unfortunately, that site is gone for a couple of years (and the notes with it).
